Patient Information & FAQ

Visiting Us

Do I need an appointment? At our Punggol clinic, walk-ins are welcome during opening hours. At Joo Chiat, we operate by appointment — please call or book online before visiting to avoid a wasted trip.

What should I bring? Please bring your NRIC or FIN card (or passport for visitors), your Healthier SG card if enrolled, any existing medications you are taking, and any previous test results or referral letters relevant to your visit.

How long will I wait? Waiting times vary. Walk-in patients at Punggol are seen in order of arrival. Appointment patients are prioritised at their scheduled time. If you have a complex issue or need a longer consultation, let us know when you book so we can allocate sufficient time.

Fees & Payment

How much does a consultation cost? Consultation fees vary depending on the complexity of the visit, investigations required and medications dispensed. We will always give you an estimate before any significant additional costs. Please ask our staff if you are unsure.

What payment methods do you accept? We accept Cash, PayNow, NETS, Visa and Mastercard. We do not accept American Express.

Do you accept insurance or corporate panels? We are a private, fee-for-service clinic and do not participate in insurance or corporate panels. Patients are welcome to submit our receipts to their own insurers for reimbursement, subject to the terms of their individual plans.

Do you accept CHAS or Healthier SG subsidies? Yes — we are a Healthier SG enrolled clinic. Eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs can enrol with us as their regular family physician and receive subsidised consultations and nationally recommended health screening. Please ask our staff about enrolment.

Can I get an itemised receipt for insurance claims? Yes. Please request an itemised receipt at the time of payment and we will provide one.

Medical Certificates & Reports

Can I get an MC? Yes. Medical Certificates (MCs) are issued when clinically appropriate — when you are genuinely unfit for work or school due to illness or injury. We do not issue MCs on request without a proper clinical assessment.

Can I get a medical report for insurance or legal purposes? Yes, for selected report types. Please see our Medical Certification page for details. Medical reports require additional time to prepare and attract a separate fee.

Can I get a referral letter to a specialist? Yes. If we assess that specialist input is needed, we will write a referral letter. We can also write referral letters for patients who wish to seek a second opinion.

Other Questions

Do you see children? Yes. We provide care for patients of all ages, including infants, children and teenagers. See our Child & Adolescent Care page for more details.

Do you provide home visits? We do not currently offer routine home visits. For patients who are unable to travel, please call us and we will advise on the most appropriate arrangement.

How do I get my test results? We will contact you when results are ready, usually within a few working days depending on the test. If you have not heard from us after a week, please call the clinic.
